Week of August 20-24

We've made it to the end of week 2! The fourth grade teachers are enjoying getting to know your learners better each day that we spend with them! See below for class updates and reminders:

Family Pictures
As a reminder, we would like for each fourth grader to bring in a picture of his/her family. You may send in a printed picture, or you may email a copy of a picture to your child's teacher.

No School on Monday, September 3rd due to Labor Day!

Curriculum Night
Town Center Curriculum Night will be next Thursday, August 30th from 6:30-7:30pm. During Curriculum Night, we will share a short presentation that will cover important curriculum details and procedures for the year. We would love it if you could be there! We will also share our presentations on this blog next week, so if you are unable to make it to Curriculum Night, we will still be able to share the information with you.

Write a Check begins on Thursday, August 30th.

Picture Day will be Thursday, September 6th.

Book Fair begins Monday, September 10th and will go on all week!

Special Friends Day is Friday, September 14th. We will send out more information about a time frame for 4th grade.

The Annual Fall Family Picnic will also be on Friday, September 14th. Time TBA!

In Math and Science, we are looking forward to continuing our first units on place value of numbers and matter.

In Reading and Language Arts, we are continuing to build our foundation of the reading and writing workshops.

In Social Studies, we will continue our first unit over regions of Texas. We will learn how to take Cornell notes and focus on the Mountains and Basins and the Coast regions.
