Fall Parent Teacher Conferences
If you were unable to meet with the teachers on Friday 10/11 due to the slots being filled, please reach out to your child's teacher to set up an alternative conference time. We are required to share the first nine weeks data, so we would love to meet with you!
Writer's Workshop for Parents
We would love to invite you for a Writer's Workshop. We will go through the writing process and model what our writing block looks like in our classrooms. We will also provide tools and resources for our learners to practice at home. Due to the Coppell Homecoming Parade, we have rescheduled our workshop to Wednesday, October 30th. Thank you so much for being flexibility!
TCE Pumpkin Patch
This Fall we will be turning our very own TCE Garden into the TCE Pumpkin Patch! We are so excited about all of the wonderful learning activities and curriculum connections we will be able to make in our school garden! If you would like to help us turn our school garden into the TCE Pumpkin Patch, please consider donating a pumpkin (any size or type) to our garden! You can begin sending in pumpkins as soon as possible, and we will take them to the garden. You can also drop them off in the garden on your own!

2019-2020 Creative Writing Competition
It's time for the 2019-2020 Creative Writing Competition sponsored by the Coppell Gifted Association. This will be the 12th year CGA has run this competition, and we'd love to have our 4th and 5th graders participate. Please see below for the link to register and important details.
- FREE for Coppell ISD to students to enter.
- Open to any student in grades 4-12
- Students do not have to be part of the gifted program to participate in the competition
- Deadline for submissions: December 6, 2019

PTO Movie Night will be Friday, October 18th.

Writer Workshop for Parents will be Wednesday, October 30th at 5:30 PM.
In Writing, we will continue exploring our Unit 2 of exploring non-fiction writing. In grammar, we will be working on "long u," and we will revisit adjectives using a mentor sentence. The spelling rule this week is "long u".
In Reading, we will continue exploring non-fiction texts. Learners have been checking out nonfiction texts from the library and practicing the skills we learn in class. Learners will be able to showcase the funds of knowledge they are coming into this unit with.
In Math, the learners will continue exploring multiplication.
In Science, we have began our force, motion, and energy. The learners will explore the five types of energy through a scavenger hunt and digital ports.
In TX History, we will continue our Unit 2 about Europeans settlers in Texas. We will begin with learning about motivations of these explorers and what they found in Texas.
