Curriculum Updates
Math: In math, we are learning about angles. The learners will be illustrating and drawing angles, using a protractor for measuring angles, determining the approximate measures of angles, and determining the measure of an unknown angle formed by two non-overlapping adjacent angles.
Science: In science, we are wrapping up our investigations over the seasons and tides. We will be investigating shadows this week. The learners will be participating in an outdoor learning experience where they will be tracking their shadows over a few hours.
Language Arts: In reading, students will continue to review different reading skills. This week we are focusing on Drama and Poetry. Next weeks reading focus will include text structure. Please keep an eye out for your leaners weekly reading vocabulary focus. Each week, we will focus on a group of reading vocabulary words. Learners will be informally assessed on these on these words throughout the week. Please review the list (found on your child's reading teachers's website) with your learner at home for extra practice.
Social Studies: Learners will be exploring Texas as an independent state and the role of Texas in the Civil War.
