Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Volunteering Opportunities
If you are interested in supporting our school, volunteering with the PTO is a great way to do it. Our board president, Casey Conley, is currently looking for volunteers that would be willing to help out with our school garden, spring book fair, and spring fundraiser. If you are interested in finding out more or signing up to help out, please email her at cconley24@gmail.com. Anyone is welcome!

Six Flags Read to Succeed
We sent home reading logs this week for the Six Flags Read to Succeed Program. These forms will be due February 19th, 2019. If your child completes six hours of reading, they will receive a free ticket to Six Flags!

In Math, we have been working hard on multiplication strategies. We will continue to practice multiplication strategies next week as well. Please ask your learner about these strategies and have them show you what they have learned as practice!

In Science, we have started our weather unit by taking an in-depth look at the water cycle. Next week we will begin to study weather patterns and fronts.

In Language Arts, we will begin our nonfiction unit. Learners will begin to learn how to analyze nonfiction texts to read for learning. We also have begun digging deeper into expository writing. We will learn how to appropriately apply transition words and spell homophones.

In Social Studies, we have started talking about the Texas Revolution. We will start exploring the important people of the revolution, and we are excited to introduce the Alamo.
