TCE STEM Night
2019-2020 Creative Writing Competition
It's time for the 2019-2020 Creative Writing Competition sponsored by the Coppell Gifted Association. This will be the 12th year CGA has run this competition, and we'd love to have our 4th and 5th graders participate. Please see below for the link to register and important details.
- FREE for Coppell ISD to students to enter.
- Open to any student in grades 4-12
- Students do not have to be part of the gifted program to participate in the competition
- Deadline for submissions: December 6, 2019

TCE STEM Night- Thursday, November 7th at 5:30-7:00 PM.
Veteran's Day Ceremony- Monday, November 11th at 8:00 AM.
In Writing, we will continue exploring our Unit 2 of exploring non-fiction writing. They will start creating their digital learning journals for nonfiction writing. In grammar, we will be working on compound sentences. The spelling rule this week is r controlled vowels.
In Reading, we will continue exploring non-fiction texts. Learners have been checking out nonfiction texts from the library and practicing the skills we learn in class. We will start growing more ideas from research.
In Math, learners will be wrapping up our unit on multiplication using various strategies.
In Science, we our continuing in Unit 2 about force, motion, and energy. The learners will explore the five types of energy through mini lessons on each type of energy accompanied by a hands-on activity to further understanding.
In TX History, we will continue our Unit 2 about Europeans settlers in Texas. We will be learning about the relationship between Mexico and Texas in the early years and then finish out the week with a Veteran's Day activity that will be showcased at the ceremony on 11/11.
