Week of February 27th-March 3rd

Time flies when you are having a great time. We cannot believe it is already March! Please read through this week's blog to know what happened this week in our classrooms.

In Reading, we have started talking about paired passages.  Learners have been introduced to the skills and strategies to comparing and contrasting passages that share similarities and differences. Moreover, learners will continue exploring paired passages through meaningful learning experiences. For Dr. Seuss day, our librarian, Mrs. Beruman, treated us with a day outside reading and exploring Dr. Seuss' books.

In Social Studies, learners have wrapped learning about early explorers and Texas colonization. We have started talking about the ground work of the Texas Revolution.

In Writing, learners have practiced their grammar knowledge using noredink. Moreover, learners are individually building their knowledge of writing and grammar skills that they need to solidify.

In Math, learners dived deeper into interpreting remainders. Learner worked in small groups to dissect word problems in order to maximize their comprehension of what skill the problem is asking for. Learners are in the process of working on their must do/may do boards related to division.

In Science, the 4C/D/E rotation dived deeper into talking and exploring the causes and effects of impact. Learners are working on their impact learning ports. Moreover, in the 4A/B rotation, learners are talking about fossil fuels through hands on explorations. Learners have explored the causes of pollution as well.
