Week of March 20th-24th

Time flies when you're having a great time! Please check out all of the awesome learning that happened here down C Hall this week!

In Writing, learners reviewed and practiced different writing strategies and grammatical rules in preparation for our upcoming state assessment. Learners rotated among five different stations. The first station explored different editing rules, such as apostrophes, commas and conjunctions, quotation marks, capital letters, and pronouns. Moreover, our second station reviewed spelling rules, homophones, and verb tenses. The third station the learners brainstormed various writing prompts and wrote topic sentences while also reviewing more spelling rules. Our fourth station talked about adding details, rating different writing pieces, adding transition words, and how to vary sentence structures. Last but not least, the fifth station explored strong introductions and conclusions, while also practicing strategies to writing a dramatic and detailed sentence.

In Reading, learners were able to dive deeper into the books they have committed to. They did this by exploring various strategies and stations to help strengthen their engagement with their books.

In Social Studies, we are continuing to learn about the Alamo. Learners are building their background knowledge on the Texas Revolution.

In Math, learners continued to explore various division strategies. They have been working hard to make meaningful personal connections with math while also practicing the essential skill.

In Science, learners are exposed to the various resources around us and the causes and effects of pollutions.
